Project Overview
The 2022 Celtic Christmas advert, themed “Share The Magic”, was produced in collaboration with the Celtic FC Foundation. Its goal was to combine festive storytelling and community outreach, celebrating generosity and kindness during the Christmas season. The film showcases players, staff, and volunteers coming together with the local community to spread festive cheer, especially for those facing hardship. It also acted as a support for the Foundation’s Christmas Appeal, with the intention of raising awareness and funds.






My Role
I contributed throughout the creative pipeline:
- Participated in the storyboarding and concept development, helping shape the narrative around community, kindness, and charity.
- Designed and oversaw the visual effects (VFX) elements to amplify the magical and warm atmosphere — for example, lighting effects radiating from landmarks, festive lights, and the “magic” moments tying together scenes of giving.
- Edited the VFX throughout the advert, ensuring transitions were smooth, magical moments stood out, and the overall tone remained uplifting and emotionally resonant.
Final Solution
The video was well received both by the fans and the local media, praised for its sincerity and positive message. It effectively helped to elevate Celtic’s charitable efforts; the advert was paired with:
The creation of Walfrid’s Wishlist, a scheme where every festive purchase from Celtic’s retail lines triggered a financial contribution to the Foundation’s Christmas Appeal.
Feedback showed that the audience responded to the more heartfelt, less comedic angle compared to previous years, feeling it matched better with the challenges many were facing. It reinforced Celtic’s identity as a club rooted in community and kindness, and it helped raise both awareness and emotional connection toward the Foundation’s work.
